The aim of Dads Lads n Lasses is to provide an opportunity for Dads and
their children to spend some quality time together. We try to strike the
right balance between time to enjoy doing activities as a group, time for us
to be with our children and time for God. For families where the dad is
absent, we encourage and support arrangements to be made for the children to
atttend events with a significant male adult.
Dads lads n Lasses weekend 2004
|
Our vision (more than 12 years ago, when 3 dads took their boys away for the
weekend) was to see Dads, Lads and Lasses grow into a project that would
give as many dads as possible the opportunity to spend a memorable time with
their kids.
|
Every year we have a weekend event camping and on average we have about 90 people coming to join in activities such as leather work, orienteering, sports and games, talent shows and much more. It
continues to encourage us in our important role as fathers and provides
opportunities for friendship with other men.
Dads Lads n Lasses works closely with "Kingston Fathers" running a number of activities throughout the year including "Who Let the Dads Out?" which is a drop-in for dads and their kids. For more info visit the Kingston Fathers web-site:
